NSW:Man shots himself dead in police station

Police can't explain how a man got a gun to shot himself in the head while inside a
police station in the NSW Riverina.

The 37-year-old man was arrested last night because of a domestic dispute in Wagga Wagga.

A police spokesman says the man sustained what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot
wound to the head while at the police station.

He died in hospital this morning after his life support was switched off.

Police superintendent PAUL HUXTABLE says it isn't known where the gun came from or
how it got in the back of the police vehicle.

But he says it was not a police gun.
