The European PET Bottle Platform (EPBP), a voluntary bottlemakers initiative supported NGOs involved in bottle recycling and production, has recognised the recyclability of ColorMatrix's oxygen scavenging HyGuard and light blocking Ultimate UV additive technologies by concluding that they will have "no negative impact on current European PET recycling".
HyGuard is not based on an oxidisable polymer like conventional oxygen scavengers.
