Low heels put you on better footing: study

Wearing high heels may not be the way to put your best footforward, and may indeed be a cause of painful foot deformities.

A new study done in Dublin, Ireland, was reported at theAmerican Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society's summer meeting.

It indicated that high heels place a strain on women's feet byshifting weight to parts of the foot that can't handle it. As theheight of the heel increases, the ground contact area isprogressively reduced, putting more pressure on the ball of the foot.
