SA: Third person dies on SA roads for holiday period
ADELAIDE, Dec 26 AAP - A man died when the car he was driving struck a tree south of
Adelaide today, bringing South Australia's holiday road toll to three.
A police spokesman said the 37-year-old Hallett Cove man died at the scene of the accident,
which occurred about midday on Easton Road, near Clarendon.
A woman, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre,
where she was in a serious-but-stable condition.
The man was the third person to die on SA roads for the Christmas-New Year holiday period.
A 74-year-old man died when two cars collided at Christies Beach in Adelaide's southern
suburbs on Christmas Eve.
And SA's first road fatality in the Christmas-New Year period happened Friday afternoon
when two vehicles collided head-on at Woodside, south-east of Adelaide.
A total of 165 people have died on SA roads so far this year, compared with 150 at
the same time last year.
